Pumpkin Patch Fun

We have been to our share of pumpkin patches over the past month so I thought I would share some photos. This is one of my favorite parts about fall. Since the leaves don't change around here, you have to have something to make you feel like it's actually fall. Addie loved the pumpkin patches this year. Yay for a fun thing to do outside with your toddler that is Free! Of course she found it to be very frustrating that she could not pick up the huge pumpkins and throw them like a ball :)

And here is my muscle girl (or at least she thinks). Notice the little pumpkins in the background. Yeah, those have been chunked way too many times. Too bad there's not a pumpkin throwing contest for 18 month olds...we could be good at that :)

Trip To Bahamas!

Ok, so this post is WAY overdue. I've had a lot of trouble with getting pictures to upload to the blog. Frustrating. But yay, finally success!

We recently went to the Bahamas with Isaac's family for a week. Stayed at the Atlantis resort...Amazing! So many things to do and of course gorgeous weather the entire time. It was a great trip. So grateful to get to go to such a fun place.

This is Hilarious to me. Some how we got her to keep that hat on the entire time. Amazing!

Grandma and Addie in the pool.

Family pic. Check out the enormous tower in the background. Reminded me of the movie Lost. Thats where most of the water slides were. They have a ton at this place. Including one where you go through a shark tank. I didn't partake. Luckily I had the pregnancy excuse :)

This is the aquarium they had. Addie loved all the big fish.

And this is the slide that Addie was obsessed with. Hard to tell, I know. I can't count how many times she went down this thing. I think Grandma had to endure it the most.

Mommy and Addie. I'm going to be sad the day that tummy goes away :)

Daddy and Addie at the beach.

The whole gang. Sad, but this was the only group shot we got.

This is my favorite.

And of course the plane ride home. Luckily the flight was not full so we had an extra seat to put the wiggle worm in. And of course the DVD player that we strategically borrowed and brought along lost all battery power 20 minutes into the flight. AHHHH! Some how we survived. Not sure I would recommend flying on an airplane longer than 3 hours with a 18 month old. If you do than you deserve another vacation :) Side note, don't you love how my husband is playing on his iPhone during this lovely episode we were having. Ahh, got to love him.

And in memory of our first Bahamas trip...here is a pic from our beach wedding there. Love my sweet husband and so glad I got to marry him in such a gorgeous place.

Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice...

Looks like Isaac is going to be surrounded by lovely little ladies. The Henson's are having a Girl! Yay, I'm so excited. Pull out the baby bows, pink onesies, and all the cuteness that goes with having girls. I'm so excited that Addie will have a little sister. I never had a sister and now I will be blessed with two little girls. Would never have guessed, but am thrilled that this is God's plan for our family.

We have a lot of change headed our way in the next year. All Very good changes, but when I sit down and think on all of it...whew, its a lot at once. Maybe not so much the actual changes, but more the process in getting to the changes. I a planner, so needless to say I'm already thinking way ahead. I was thanking God for all the blessings the other day and asking to continue to see His hand in all of it. I tend to be a person that doesn't enjoy "change". Boring you might say, well yes (that's where my husband steps in) But in my little human mind that is where I always feel safe. God has slowly (thank goodness) pulled me out of that little comfort zone I created for myself and showed me the peace and joy that can be found in trusting him through all of life's turns, whether they are good ones, stressful ones or just plain hard ones. I'm so grateful that I serve a God that refuses to let me stay put. Instead he fights for me and lovingly shows me how to grow in order to live life to the fullest.

That all being said, I casually mentioned the other day to him that it would kind of be nice to just have another girl. It was kind of one of those moments where you don't realize you are talking to God, but your heart just can't help it. I thought to myself, it sure would make all these transitions a little easier. I mean, we already have a full stock of pink clothes, blankets, and everything else imaginable. And I feel like now I "kinda" know what I'm doing with a little girl. You throw a boy at me and I feel like I need to get my tough face on and prepare to get dirty all the time. So God was probably laughing at my casual little plea of "please don't throw me another big change", and in his perfect timing he loved on me by showing me this new little lady that will be joining us soon. Thank you Lord for change, little girls, and loving me in the way you do.

Henson #2 are you Pink or Blue!

We find out tomorrow what the new addition to our family will be. Exciting! I can't wait. Have absolutely no preference at all, just dying to know :)
So if you read this before I post the news tomorrow, let me know what you think it is. We'll see if you're right :)

First Day of Preschool

I had to get one pic with her wearing the backpack. Wish I had a video of her walking with it. Quite amusing, it was a little too heavy for her.

And here we go. Hard to tell, but I promise Mom was more nervous than Addie. We survived though. Addie had a blast and so did Mom :) Love our church and the sweet teachers that are hanging out with my little girl a few hours every week.

Trip to Austin

We got the fam, plus our favorite friends the Fergusons, and headed to Austin last weekend. It was a short get away, and kind of crazy with two toddlers but we had a blast. Stayed at my MIL's super cute house downtown and ate lots of good Austin food.

We hit the Children's Museum on Saturday, which Addie loved. The whole place was very cool.

I think Addie is a little disturbed by the fact that Luke is going up the wrong way. Such a girl.

And apparently Addie is ready for a big bed. She slept with mom in our full size bed all weekend while dad got kicked to the couch. I'm not sure which was worse, sleeping on the couch or getting kicked in the face by a toddler all night :)

Dancing and clapping to some good ole Mexican music.

Isaac had a little too much fun cooking us all steaks :)

And lets be honest, the parents had more fun at the Children's museum than the kids. We love the Fergusons. Good times!
